Emerson "VINTAGE TONE" Banjo Bridge
Welcome to Kelly Emerson's BANJOFEVER.COM Web Site. The New EMERSON "VINTAGE TONE" Power Bridge Is Now Available From This Site!!!

Good Golly, "Its (Holly)"!!!!!! Here's another high performance bridge that I've created. The Emerson "VINTAGE TONE" Power Bridge is made of aged holly wood with an ebony cap. This bridge, in comparison to my Emerson Sweet II Power Bridge ventures to the next level of tonal quality. It produces more of the hollow, crispy sweet "popping" tone that is heard in prewar banjos. Along with the tonal features that this bridge offers, it still produces that well known """CRACK"" found with my EMERSON Power Bridges due to my specified design. Banjo bridge building has become an in-depth science with me. For the past six years starting in 1999, I've been comparing woods as well as wood-combinations searching for the perfect wood compound for transferring string vibration into the banjo pot chamber. I've come up with another good one here. Your tone ring will ring similar to a prewar banjo with that wonderful hollow tone and plenty of pop. Thanks for looking and keep enjoying your banjos.....Kelly Emerson.

These are the available versions and choices for this bridge:  String spacing (sub-standard -13/32"-, standard -7/16"- or Crowe -15/32"-). The available heights are as follows: 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", .656", 11/16", 3/4" and any other custom height upon request. It comes in these different versions: tenor and plectrum banjos, 5-string banjos, 6-string banjos, 7-string banjos, banjo ukes and banjo mandolins

TESTIMONIAL:

Kelly,
I've been playing my 2001 RB-75 for the past few weeks while switching off between the Emerson Power Bridge and the new Vintage Tone Bridge that I recently bought. What a bridge! I'm well pleased with the excellent tonal quality I get from the Vintage Tone. It's a real keeper and I get only positive responses from listeners with this bridge on my banjo. I switched from the power bridge to the vintage tone and my oldest daughter was floored - she immediately recognized a tonal quality that she calls "twang". I call it that pre-war tone that we all look for. Great high end with ZERO low end reduction!

Part 2 !!!!

I was at my friend Red's house yesterday - He couldn't put my RB-75 down, he loved the new sound with the Vintage Tone bridge. He's been picking for 40 years and fell in love with the tone. We were messing around with his favorite banjo, a 1935 RB-3, he said he likes the tone of my RB-75 better. I told him I had a power bridge in my case, we swapped it on his RB-3 and WOW - brought that banjo alive. He was amazed to say te least. I of course, gave it to him and we played some more. Kelly, I can't even put into words what the power bridge did for the upper end of that RB-3 and again -ZERO low end loss.
So anyway the point was he FINALLY let me play that 1935 RB-3! I now have a new passion to find one I can afford.
Thanks for the bridges they really are the best! Great work again!

TESTIMONIALS

1.) Hi Kelly
Thanks I received it and immediately installed it without even changing the strings and WOW did i notice a difference in sound and raising the bridge that little bit took away the little bit of string contact I was getting.
The best part was when my wife who is not a big banjo fan came in to the shop to see if I had bought a new banjo.
Thanks

2.) Kelly, I own a Gibson RB-3. Last weekend I received your bridge. This bridge is fabulous in every way. My RB-3 rings with more sustain, it's crisp and clear with lots of treble but no loss of bass. I'm finding it hard to put my banjo down! I would not change this bridge in any way. I will order more of the same in the future. Thanks so much. Sincerely, Gordon Severson.

3.) Hi Kelley, The banjo bridge came today. I just put it on. I am just learning the banjo and have an Alvarez 4285 with tone ring etc. It is a pretty decent for beginning however I have done some extensive reading and adjusting on this banjo and had it sounding pretty good .I put your bridge on it and started tuning it and the tuner acted different and finally settled down. It is amazing what a difference a small piece of wood can make, the sustain is unbelieveable. I will still have to tinker with setting the tailpiece etc. but I just can't believe the volume increase already. Thanks Kelley I know a lot of work went into this project. Best of luck in your adventures, Lee Caudill, Madisonville, Ky
